Sipe Depth
How Deep Should You Cut?

Let's talk about sipe depth. Siping too deep will cause too much tread block distortion. Resulting in traction loss, poor tire performance, and tread failure, also known as "Chunking."

Ideal sipe depth will vary for each compound and driving style, but from our experience, you should never sipe deeper than half of the available tread block thickness compared to the factory groove depth.

It is common to resipe the tire weekly as the tread depth is reduced. Be sure to reset the sipe depth to half of the available depth.
